Creature evolution meets action adventure RPG, Strange Seed, joins Slug Disco’s growing catalogue of indie titles.

Friday 22nd November 2024 – Slug Disco is pleased to announce it has signed Strange Seed. Strange Seed is a creature evolution game crossed with an action adventure RPG. It’s inspired by Spore’s creature stage, but reimagined as a role-playing journey where your parts actually matter.

Strange Seed recently saw its first demo go live in September 2024, which offers an early look at the first areas of the game and already allows for some amazing creatures to be created. Since the launch of the demo it’s had positive feedback and great suggestions from players and has gone from strength to strength as the team has continued to work on it.

Whilst the small team at Chronicle Games focus on finishing up the game ahead of a 2025 launch, Slug Disco have come on board as publisher to help the game reach an even bigger audience.

Strange Seed caught my eye the moment the demo announcement landed in my inbox,” said Daniel Postlethwaite, Slug Disco’s Head of Product Marketing. “I’m always on the lookout for truly unique and exciting games and Strange Seed’s fusion of creature evolution, RPG mechanics and even a hint of the soulslike formula really appealed to me. I’m excited to be able to work with Chronicle Games to bring the game to a wide audience.”

Strange Seed’s demo is available to play right now on Steam.

About Chronicle Games:

About Slug Disco:

Slug Disco Studios was founded by 3 friends: Matt, John & Liam, who met back in school and lived together through university. The company was set up to support their dream of producing a video game all about ants. With a combination of freelance educational software contracts, a grant from Creative England, and a kickstarter campaign, they were able to see their first major video game project “Empires of the Undergrowth” through to Steam’s Early Access programme in December 2017. Following the success of Empires of the Undergrowth, they have acted as publisher for a series of independent game projects. Strange Seed will be the sixth such game. For press enquiries, such as interview access or follow up answers to questions please email: press@slugdisco.com
